1. Purpose

The Charter affirms the Commons’ commitment to openness, fairness, and accountability in all aspects of membership, governance, and knowledge sharing. It ensures that members and stakeholders can trust the Commons as a transparent and participatory institution.

2. Principles of Transparency

• Open Access: All governance documents, policies, and reports are publicly available.
• Clear Communication: Decisions, updates, and enforcement actions are communicated promptly and clearly.
• Visibility of Contributions: Member contributions are attributed and showcased openly in the repository and reports.
• Accessible Records: Meeting summaries, annual reports, and enforcement statistics are published regularly.

3. Principles of Accountability

• Fair Enforcement: Policies are applied consistently and equitably across all membership categories.
• Independent Review: Appeals are handled by an independent committee to ensure impartiality.
• Responsibility of Leaders: Governance bodies are accountable to members through reporting and consultation.
