Hed-Core Academic Commons Registration Policy
Purpose
The Commons is designed to foster collaboration among academics, students, and researchers. Registration policies ensure that membership remains secure, inclusive, and academically focused.
To maintain academic integrity and community trust, all registrations are subject to review and approval.
1. Eligibility
Membership is open to:
- Faculty and Staff: Recognized academic institutions.
- Policymakers and Civil Servants
- Management and Staff of Multilateral Organizations, NGOs, CSOs, and Think Tanks
- Management and Staff of Professional Organizations
- Students: Undergraduate and graduate students with valid institutional affiliation.
- Researchers: Independent scholars, postdoctoral fellows, visiting academics.
- Administrators and Librarians: Academic support staff.
Guests may be granted limited access at the discretion of site administrators, as observers or external collaborators.
2. Registration Process
- Account Creation: Complete the registration form with accurate personal and academic details.
- Profile Fields: Required fields include full name, institution, department/faculty, academic role, and research interests.
- Email Verification: All accounts must confirm their email via activation link. Institutional emails are strongly preferred.
- Moderator Review: Registrations are reviewed for eligibility and completeness.

3. Moderation and Screening
- Pending Accounts: Remain inactive until approved.
- Verification: Accounts using non‑academic email domains may require additional documentation.

4. Access Levels
- Approved Members: Full access to groups, forums, and collaborative tools.
- Pending Members: Limited access until approval is granted.

- Members are responsible for safeguarding their login credentials
8. Transparency and Updates
- This policy is published publicly and accessible during registration.
- Updates will be communicated to all members.
- Continued use of the Commons indicates acceptance of the latest version.
